High performance fluidized bed photoreactor for ethylene decomposition

Abstract Removal of C 2 H 4 in the air was carried out continuous flow reactor with photocatalytic bed (expanded polystyrene spheres coated by TiO or SiO /TiO ) under irradiation UV light. Continuous a gas stream through realised at static and fluidization. The required for fluidisation 500–700 ml/min, whereas rate 20 ml/min used. Fluidized appeared to be much more efficient ethylene removal than that stationary bed. It caused increased speed mass transfer photocatalyst surface better utilization incident In fluidized calculated degradation around 10 μg/min state 1.2 only.
